Abstract
while discussing the different approaches to the issue of historical pollutions (namely pollutions stemming from previous times and "inherited" by current companies or individuals thus facing possible liabilities) and underlining the overwhelming role allotted to ciminal law as main (and often quite unit) way of responding to the problem in Italy, the connections with the protection of victims of corporations (and the relevant EU Durective n. 29/2012) are highlighted.
