Abstract
The aim of this analysis is to outline why and how technical innovations and the development of associations among breeders led the Italian Holstein-Friesian breed of cattle (Frisona Italiana), known primarily for its high milk yield, to became dominant in the ‘60s, surpassing other breeds, previously more widespread in Italy.
