Abstract
Recently, due to its growth, Religious Tourism has been the
subject of extensive legislative intervention in which both national and regional
legislators have participated. The legislation has been layered over time, initially linking religious tourism with social tourism and subsequently with cultural
tourism, also thanks to the collaboration with the Catholic Church. The essay
reconstructs the development of this sector of the Italian legal system, focusing
on the specific issues of Religious Routes and the CEI project of «Parchi Culturali Ecclesiali».
