The Educational Question and the Filmological Enterprise in Italy

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

Agostino Gemelli, founder of the Catholic University of Milan and leading Italian psychologist until his death in 1959, showed a long-standing interest for the questions of film and thus contributed significantly to open the provincial Italian academic culture of the Forties to the filmological debates. Aim of this paper is to stress how could film, within this context, become a crucial device in scientific research and for educational politics, leading to its inclusion in high education programs.
