Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay reconstructs the birth and diffusion of the movements and international federations of Catholic student youth between the late 1950s and 1960s. These realities, which still remain largely to be studied, were a determining element of what can be called the "Catholic Sixty-eight", anticipating many instances of the subsequent youth contestation. The international networks of Catholic students, particularly significant in western Europe in the 1960s, contributed to the emergence of a global thought among Christian youth, calling into question the national horizon that had characterized many realities of the lay apostolate until then.
