Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume illustrates the main theories, both traditional and modern, within the Industrial Organization, the economic discipline that studies the structure of companies and markets and their ways of interacting. There are two fundamental approaches to tackle the study of industrial organization, both of which are compatible with the analytical approach and are both used in this volume. The first approach called Structure-Behaviors-Results is mainly descriptive, the second, based on the theory of price formation, uses microeconomic models in order to explain the behavior of companies and the market structure.
