Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] At a time when disinterest and dissatisfaction with the ideals of European integration are felt, often also among young people, it should not be forgotten that the EU has created a space in which to move, work, study freely, which is unprecedented in the history of Europe, which has no equal in other continents and which has expanded more and more over the decades. The text carries out a series of considerations aimed at reiterating how the EU has led to the creation of a dimension of freedom in the last 60 years that those lucky enough to live on the territory of the Union would not be able to give up. To avoid disaffection and disinterest in the process and results of European integration, we can certainly hope for further progress in the democratic nature of the European institutions, in more incisive social policies and above all in the adoption of clear political choices of direct support to families.
