Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The Archivio Linceo 4 manuscript of the Corsiniana Library in Rome preserves a brief biographical account of the learned Augustan Marcus Welser, already correspondent of Galileo Galilei and received in the Accademia dei Lincei since 1612, two years before his death. The prince of the Roman council, Federico Cesi, firmly convinced of the cultural merits of the German scholar, at the center of a dense network of correspondences in the public Res litteraria, entrusted the Flemish poet Justus Ricquius with the task of composing the life of the Bavarian, according to the academic indications. The company did not go through and that biography remains the notes that the essay published here, accompanied by introduction and commentary.
