Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay opens with a literary historical contextualization of Arévalo Martínez. He continues with a description of his work and points out that, although its origins are modernist, the development of his work takes him far from that movement. It focuses, in short, on "The man who looked like a horse and other stories" describing influences, internal characteristics and relations with European literature.
