Abstract
The essay analyses how innovation and changes in property rights and agrarian contracts modified productions and yields in the agriculture of Lombardy: the aim is to show how exiting social structures influenced institutioanl and technological innovations in Lombardy, the most industrialised area in Italy and the one with the second highest agrarian output.
