Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The paper is the abridged version of the dissertation, which the author accepted by his participation in the Department of Pragmatics of the Institute for German Language (IDS) at the University of Mannheim. The study examines the forms, functionality and relevance of variational phenomena in the Swabian dialect. Their empirical basis consists of various lessons (with changing teachers) in a ninth grade of a high school in Ulm, ie in the central Swabian-speaking area.
