Abstract

[Machine translation] The paper refers to some professors of botanic and agronomy, amateurs of the new agronomic science and officials that promoted inquiries on ther agriculture in the area of Piacenza and Parma, to make improvements through the dissemination of new agricultural knowledge between landowners and farmers. Some of these figures were educated at the Collegio Alberoni, an ecclesiastical seminary closely linked to a good husbandry by its founder, Cardinal Giulio Alberoni: both because its resources have long been derived from the management of its land property, and because the College was finalized to educating a diocesan clergy that could manage the parish benefits of the communities entrusted to it. In the appendix a bibliography of agricultural books and booklets published in Piacenza and Parma between 1783 and 1850.
