Abstract

[Machine translation] The text of Hom ditz que gaugz non es senes amor by Aimeric de Pegulhan is preserved in five manuscripts: CRTOc. The attribution to the troubadour of Toulouse is only by CR, while T and c attribute the song to Arnaut de Maruelh; in O the composition, which lacks the first eleven verses, is merged with Si com l’arbres, que per sobracargar by Aimeric himself, and does not have an explicit attribution. The article investigates the problem of the authorship of the text, concluding that Hom ditz is probably, but not definitely, by Aimeric. A new critical edition of the text with the Italian translation and commentary follows.
